Most of us equate abundant life to having material possessions.
But the truth is living life more abundantly goes beyond having a big house, beautiful cars, and fancy clothes. There are people with many earthly possessions that feel empty on the inside. They are not living abundantly.
That goes to show that there is more to life.
As Christians, we should not allow the world to define success or abundance for us. The word of God should be our guide.
“The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.” John 10:10
Here are the keys to living life more abundantly:
Live a Life That’s Rooted in Christ

We need to start living lives that are rooted in Christ because without him; we can do nothing. He is the vines, and we are the branches.
rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:7
Just so we are clear, it is not wrong to possess things. But things and people should not take the place of Jesus in your heart. People change, and we will leave all our material possessions behind.
You will always feel discontented on the inside when you chase after worldly things.
So, allow Jesus to take first place in your heart.
Love Yourself
How you treat people correlates with how you treat yourself.
If you don’t love yourself, then you will always find life to be depressing, boring, and complicated, and that is not abundant life.
God loves you with an everlasting love. See yourself the way God sees you, be kind, forgiving, and patient with yourself. Doing that will help you to love others, and you will live a great life that is pleasing to God.
Continue in the Word
Live by faith. Know the word of God because faith comes by hearing the word of God.
So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Knowing what the Scripture says about abundance and meditating on it will help you to develop more faith, and this will open up doors of abundance in your life. You will have more peace, joy, love, and experience abundance in your spiritual walk, finances, and health.
Pray Without Ceasing
Prayer changes things.
You have probably heard that so many times it sounds like a Christian cliché.
But the truth is things change when you pray. If you want to experience abundance in every area of your life, then pray.
The more you pray and stand firm in the word of God, the more your heart will align with God’s word, and you will be able to understand abundance from God’s perspective.
Forgiveness
Well, this may be hard for some people to process, but forgiveness will help you to live life more abundantly.
Look you are not going to experience peace or be joyful if you don’t want to let go the pain.
So maybe the emptiness you feel on the inside is because you have refused to forgive that person. Forgive them and allow God to bring healing in your heart.
Learn New Things
Take time to learn new things, and you may be amazed at how life can go from boring to fun. Improve your skills; they will enable you to become an expert in your industry. Instead of struggling financially, you will be able to earn more money.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children. Hosea 4:6
Find Fun in the Small Things
Are you postponing your happiness?
Do you always tell people that you will be happy when you acquire a particular thing or get to a specific position?
Unfortunately, you will not be happy that way. Happiness is found in the smallest things in life, not in achieving stuff. Jesus has already provided abundant life for all of us. You only need to believe and start living it by following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Start today.
