Lord God, you have blessed me in many ways. You have given me food and water to sustain my body, and clothes and shelter for protection.
And you have given me the financial resources I need to afford those things.
Thank you for always providing for my needs.
Thank you for giving me a job to support myself and my family in a country that is full of opportunity.
Father, although I have all I need, I confess that I’m not where I want to be financially.
I have hopes and dreams for the future, but I’m going to have to make some lifestyle changes in order to achieve them.
And so, I pray that you would give me the courage to make those sacrifices.
Help me to walk away from unhealthy spending habits and develop new habits that will benefit me in the long run.
Help me to stay disciplined, no matter how difficult it gets.
Lord, help me to keep the end goal in mind. Saving money is going to require a lot of determination and perseverance.
I know there will be times when I feel like giving up. But I also know that it will all be worth it in the end.
Give me the strength I need to take these necessary steps. Jesus, help me to prioritize where I spend my money.
For as you said, where my treasure is, there my heart will be also.
Your Word is full of truth and wisdom about finances; so Lord, motivate me to spend more time in scripture.
Let your Word be the guide for everything I do, in every part of my life.
And God, help me to accept the counsel of others, as well. Don’t let me be afraid to reach out to fellow believers who have gone through this same process.
Help me to learn from others’ successes and failures when it comes to money.
Show me how to lay down my pride and become honest and vulnerable throughout this process.
You created us for community, so don’t let me neglect the valuable advice of the people around me.
God, no matter how much or how little I have, help me to be faithful to you. I know that my happiness does not depend on the amount of money I have, but on your favor and providence in my life.
Help me to continue to give faithfully to your church, even when it hurts.
Let my tithes and offerings be multiplied for your Kingdom purposes.
And Father, above all, I pray that you would be glorified. All that I have is from you, Lord. So help me to be a good steward of the money that ultimately comes from you.
Let me look not only to my own interests but also to the interests of others.
Help me to live wisely and humbly. Help me to be grateful no matter what my financial circumstances look like.
This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
