Dreams could be one of the important ways through which God may communicate with His people. Just like Daniel, Joseph and many others who received divine instructions from God through dreams, God speaks through dreams. (Job 33:14-15)
Dreams are a divine way that God instituted to talk to men, either giving them positive signs as with Joseph (Matthew 2:13) or negative warnings as in the case of Abimelech (Genesis 20:3). There is however an onus on us to test these dreams and seek true guidance by comparing them with the consistency of God’s character and His word, as many have been led astray by dreams that were not of God:
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
Dreams are generally good and are a good way that God uses to speak to His children who seek guidance and direction.
God still uses dreams to talk to people today, so do not despise dreams but be careful to compare them with the word of God for proper guidance in all things.
