Faithfulness is an attribute of God, and just like His other attributes, His will is to see that they find an expression in our lives as we live on the earth and interact with men. Faithfulness is the condition of being faithful. To be faithful means to be trustworthy.
When faithfulness is attributed to a person or being, it means that they have the character of being reliable, worthy of trust, and even loyal. When the bible calls God faithful, it means that He possesses these characters of being reliable, worthy of trust and loyal to His word and character.
We also have a calling to be faithful in our dealings with men, just as God would. We are not only required to be faithful in our dealing and service with God, but also with men.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22
Faithfulness is consistency, and the character of faithfulness is something that only God can truly help a man achieve. This is why it takes the fruit of the Spirit that is resident in us to even be able to achieve this by God’s standard.
