When sickness comes, it can feel like the walls are closing in. You may be waiting on a diagnosis, sitting in a hospital room, or praying for someone you love who is not getting better. In those moments, the Word of God is not just comfort. It is medicine.
God’s Word calls Him Jehovah Rapha, which means the Lord who heals. Healing is not just something God did in Bible times. It is part of who He is. These verses are here to strengthen your faith, remind you of His promises, and give you something to stand on when the enemy tries to tell you there is no hope.
Read them. Speak them out loud. Come back to them every day until healing comes.

Exodus 15:26 “I am the Lord who heals you.”
This is one of the first names God ever revealed about Himself. He did not say He could heal or that He might heal. He said He is the Lord who heals. That is who He is at His core.
Psalm 103:2-3 “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits. He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”
Notice it says all your diseases. Not some. Not the easy ones. All of them. Do not let the enemy convince you that your situation is the exception to God’s promise.
Isaiah 53:5 “But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him. By his wounds we are healed.”
Jesus paid for your healing the same day He paid for your sins. It was not an afterthought. It was part of the plan from the very beginning.
Jeremiah 17:14 “Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed. Save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.”
This is a prayer you can pray word for word. Sometimes you do not need fancy language. You just need to be honest with God about what you need.
Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord.”
God said this to a people who felt forgotten and broken. If you feel that way today, this promise is for you too. He restores. He does not just patch things up. He fully restores.
Matthew 4:23 “Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.”
Jesus never turned anyone away. Not one person who came to Him sick left the same way they came. That same Jesus is with you right now.

Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.”
Healing was never meant to be rare or hard to come by. Jesus gave His disciples the same power He walked in and told them to use it freely. That authority still belongs to believers today.
Matthew 18:19 “Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.”
Do not go through sickness alone. Call a friend. Ask someone to pray with you. There is power when two people come together and agree on the promises of God.
Mark 5:34 “He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace, and be cured of your disease.”
The woman with the issue of blood had been sick for twelve years and spent everything she had trying to get well. She pushed through the crowd anyway and touched Jesus. Her faith moved Him. Yours can too.
Mark 16:18 “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
This is a promise with no fine print. They will recover. If you have people in your life who can pray over you and lay hands on you, receive that prayer with open hands and open faith.
Luke 9:2 “He sent them out to preach God’s Kingdom and to heal the sick.”
Healing and the Gospel have always gone together. Wherever the good news of Jesus goes, healing follows. You are not outside the reach of that message.
John 10:10 “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.”
Sickness is not from God. The enemy is the one who comes to steal your health, your joy, and your peace. Jesus came to give you life and give it to the full.
Acts 10:38 “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
This verse makes it clear. Sickness is oppression from the enemy. And Jesus spent His entire ministry undoing it. He is still in that business today.
Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside you. Read that again. That power is not far away. It is already in you.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.”
Your body belongs to God. He lives in it. He cares about what happens to it. You have every right to bring your physical health before Him and expect Him to move.
2 Corinthians 12:9 “He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
On the days when you feel too weak to fight, this is your verse. You do not have to be strong. His power shows up strongest in the moments when you have nothing left. Let Him carry this.
Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.”
Sickness, disease, and infirmity are part of the curse that Jesus took on so you would not have to. You are redeemed from that. Walk in it.
James 5:14-15 “Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
God put this instruction in the Bible for a reason. Do not be too proud or too private to ask your church to pray over you. This is exactly what the body of Christ is for.
James 5:16 “Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.”
Do not underestimate the power of a praying woman. Your prayers matter. The prayers of your sisters in Christ matter. Keep praying and do not stop.
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.”
Notice it says you were healed. Past tense. In God’s eyes it is already done. Your job is to believe it and receive it.

3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.”
God wants you healthy. That is not a maybe. That is His desire for you, stated plainly right here. Being sick is not His plan for your life.

Psalm 30:2 “Lord my God, I cried to you, and you healed me.”
Sometimes healing starts with a cry. You do not have to have it all together. You just have to turn to Him. He hears every cry.
Psalm 41:3 “The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness.”
Even when you cannot get up, He comes to you. He meets you right where you are, even flat on your back. You are never too sick for His presence to reach you.
Psalm 107:20 “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
His Word is the medicine. That is why reading these verses is not just a nice thing to do. It is an act of faith. Keep taking the dose every single day.
Psalm 118:17 “I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
Say this one out loud. Put your name in it. Declare it over your body and your situation. This is not wishful thinking. This is faith speaking life.
Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, attend to my words. Turn your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to their whole body.”
God’s Word brings health to your whole body. Not just your spirit. Not just your mind. Your whole body. Stay in the Word, especially when you are sick.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
Waiting on God is not passive. It is an act of trust. While you wait, He is renewing your strength. The weakness you feel right now is not your final state.
Isaiah 41:10 “Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Fear and sickness often come together. God speaks to both here. He is with you. He will strengthen you. He will hold you up with His own hand. You are not alone in this.
Malachi 4:2 “But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings.”
This is one of the most beautiful healing promises in all of Scripture. For those who honor God, healing rises like the sun. It is coming. Keep your eyes on the horizon.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more. Neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.”
One day all sickness, all pain, and all suffering will be gone forever. Until that day, stand on every promise in this list and trust the God who made them.
A Prayer for Healing
Lord, I come to You today in need of Your healing touch. Your Word says You are the God who heals, and I choose to believe that today. No matter what the report says, no matter what I feel, I trust in Your promises over my body and my life.

Forgive me of my sins and let nothing stand between me and Your healing power. I declare by the wounds of Jesus that I am healed. Send Your Word into my body right now and let it do what only You can do.
I thank You in advance for what You are already doing. In Jesus name, Amen.
