Words of Encouragement After A Miscarriage

Losing a baby through a miscarriage is heartbreaking.
You may not have seen the baby, but that does not make your grief any less. A lot of your dreams and desires died with the death of your baby, but remember there is hope and healing in Jesus Christ.
A miscarriage brings with it mixed feelings that can paralyze you from moving on with your life.
You may experience denial, anger, guilt, blame, grief, depression, bitterness, emptiness, sadness and a host of other feelings.
They can leave you feeling overwhelmed and not wanting to talk to others.
Allow yourself to grieve the loss of your pregnancy and release all your feelings about it.
Remember, it is not your fault you have experienced a miscarriage.
Do not carry feelings of guilt thinking you could have prevented it or you didn’t take care of yourself like you should.
God is close to you right now for He promises that He is close to the brokenhearted.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18 NKJV
He is there to heal you and restore you to wholeness. Give Him all your pain and accept His healing balm. Reach out for God’s comfort during this trying time.
Talk to a close friend, counselor or pastor and share what you are going through. It is advisable to have someone who can help you process your feelings and create a safe environment for you to do so.
It is normal to feel angry at your doctor because you thought he or she could have done more.
You could be angry at your spouse because he doesn’t seem to understand your suffering.
Anger toward God is normal because you think He allowed this to happen. Let others know what you are experiencing and pour out your heart to God.
Take your time to deal with your pain until you come to the point of acceptance that you lost your pregnancy. It is when you accept what has happened that you can move on with your life.
When you leave behind the pain and sorrow, you can see the new thing that God wants to do in your life
Behold, I will do a new thing,Now it shall spring forth;Shall you not know it?I will even make a road in the wildernessAnd rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
A miscarriage is not a good thing, but God has promised to bring good out of it (Romans 8:28). It is not God’s will that you had a miscarriage nor is He the one who caused it.
He will help you through it as you turn to Him for hope and healing.
God will restore your loss and use your experience to help other women who are going through the same thing and don’t know how to deal with it.
When God comforts you, He will equip you to minister to other women who struggle with the pain of miscarriage.

Prayer When Dealing With The Pain of Miscarriage
Heavenly Father,
I praise you for you are the God that heals the brokenhearted.
The miscarriage I have suffered has left me brokenhearted. I am hurting so much right now.
Losing my pregnancy is threatening to crush me emotionally.
Come and heal me and bind up my wounds (Psalm 147:3).
Grief fills my heart and I don’t know how to overcome it. Anger and bitterness fill my heart for I don’t understand why the miscarriage happened.
I did all I could to take care of my body and it all feels like it was in vain.
I am angry at you because I thought you should have prevented this from happening.
Forgive me for I know you are not to blame.
Help me see this miscarriage through your eyes.
Today I choose to trust you and not lean on my understanding like your word says in Proverbs 3:5.
Lord, I am so weary of carrying the burden of my pain. You have said that I should come to you because I am weary and burdened (Matthew 11:28); please give me your promised rest.
Take this load of grief and sorrow and help me rejoice in your goodness.
Give me your peace that surpasses human understanding that it may guard my heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7).
Let it wash away all the negative thoughts that are plaguing my mind. I will look at this situation with a positive mind knowing you will bring good out of it.
Turn my sorrow into joy and take away all my feelings of despair. I will praise you because you are the God who gives me beauty for ashes.
May I always find something for which to thank you because you bless my life with good things.
Give me a renewed mind to see this miscarriage through your eyes. You are the one who sees the end from the beginning and I trust that you will walk this healing journey with me.
I may not know why it happened but I will trust you to help me put to rest all the questions I have.
Strengthen my weary heart that I may face each day with courage. Give me hope for a better tomorrow and a reason to rejoice again.
I will draw strength from your word each day. Send your word today and heal me (Psalm 107:20).
Break the chains of sorrow that have imprisoned me and set me free to experience life again.
Help me shake off feelings of failure and to expect good things from you again. You are the God who gives good gifts to your children.
I will keep my eyes on you for you are the God of my salvation. Let my faith not fail me now.
I take refuge in you for you are my strong tower and hiding place. Let me not suffer shame but rejoice in your blessings.
I declare that this miscarriage will be a testimony of your goodness and grace.
In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
