Devotional: Holy Spirit

holy spirit devotional

There are a lot of things about the Holy Spirit that are worth talking about.

The one thing we want to spotlight today is based on John 14:26.

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

If we’ve surrendered our life to Christ, the Holy Spirit is readily available (24/7 365 ya’ll) to teach, remind and empower us to live a life that honors God.

All good. All absolutely needed. I don’t know about you but I can’t get past 10am without need of the Holy Spirit.

But there is a deep truth in the scripture mentioned above that sometimes gets brushed past. It’s found in four words — the Father will send.

God knows it’s scary to be us.

This world can be full of social rejection and often your tender hearts aren’t prepared for it.

Rejection from family.

Rejection from friends.

Rejection from complete strangers on the internet that shouldn’t bother us but crushes us instead.

God knows every single tear you’ve brushed away saying “It doesn’t matter” while trying to keep it together at school.

Every. Single. Tear.

Your pain is not lost on God. He knew in advance, He prepared. The Father will send….

God loves us so much that He prepared in advance for us to never be abandoned.

People will abandon us.

But not God.

Don’t believe the lie from your enemy that as a believer you are all alone.

It’s not true.

Out of such deep love for us, God made sure that would never happen.

Ask the Holy Spirit to comfort you and comfort others when they are hurting.

Everyone is hurting at some point… the Father will send.
