It will happen in that day that his burden will depart from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil. – Isaiah 10:27

Spiritual Thought
At this time, the Israelites were under Assyrian bondage, and it looked like they were going to fade in that oppression. Of course, they had sinned and turned away from God’s laws and ordinances, but the Lord as a Father came to reassure them.
Now, this shows that even when there is darkness and confusion that comes as a result of our sins and misbehavior, God never leaves us to walk through the period of punishment alone. It is true that there is a price to pay for every wrong, but in the long run, God has promised restoration.
This gives us hope even when we pass through trying and oppressing times. In our day and time burden of oppression and guilt has departed from our shoulders, and the death of Jesus has broken the yoke of sin.
We who were strangers and far from God, without hope of redemption, dead and weighed down under the burden of sin, have found mercy and salvation in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the ultimate sacrifice.
Our ultimate debt for sin was death, but He took this yoke off of us and gave us freedom in its stead. Therefore if our ultimate debt no longer holds, every other yoke or burden is transient and without depth. It does not now matter that our earthly bodies suffer or that we bear the burdens for our salvation, for we now bear the mark of freedom, which is in Christ Jesus.
Prayer
Father God, I am burdened with things I can’t change. I am struggling because of things I can’t change. I am weak because of things I can’t change. I am tired because of things I can’t change. I am confused because of things I can’t change. But You, Lord, are able to do more than what I can even imagine. You have the power to remove these burdens from my life.
Your Word says. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” I know that I can ask and You will give me what I need. I can seek and find all that I need for myself. I can even knock and I will find.
So Lord, please remove the burdens that are weighing heavy on my heart. In the name of Jesus, I pray.
