Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
Spiritual Thought
Believers’ lives will not always be rosy. At some point, we will face situations that will test the foundations of our faith.
This is why God spoke to Joshua in this manner. If there had not been challenges, the need for this encouragement and reassurance would not have risen.
This was a foretelling to Joshua that there would be challenges ahead son, and you need to remember what I say to you now, do not be discouraged or frightened. For when the time comes, I will be with you to give you victory.
This we are sure is also a word for us because we have also come to times of testing and trials. If God did not say it to only Joshua, but to the children of Israel and every other person that walked with him, then we are also certain that he still says this to us today.
God is aware of all the things you will face. All the challenges that will come your way, and all the troubles that may be. He is speaking to us to be strong and bold on the day of our testing because he will always be with us wherever we go.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
In moments of uncertainty and challenge, when the path ahead seems fraught with trials, we come to You, recalling Your words to Joshua. Just as You encouraged him to be strong and courageous, not to be dismayed or afraid, we seek that same assurance today.
Lord, fortify our spirits and deepen our faith, that we may face our own tests with unwavering courage. We acknowledge that life does not promise ease, yet we are comforted knowing that You walk beside us in every difficult step. Let Your presence be a shield and a constant reminder that we are never alone.
Grant us the strength to endure, the boldness to stand firm, and the wisdom to see Your hand at work in all things. May Your guidance light our paths, and Your promises keep us hopeful. Teach us to rely on You completely, for You are with us wherever we go.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
