Words Of Encouragement For Broken Families

Family is a gift from God.

When we are born and over the course of our lives, God attaches us to people that make living worth it. Having people to call your very own is priceless.

But the devil always tries to plant seeds of discord whenever he notices love and unity among a group of people.

God urges us to be aware of his tricks and traps, in 2 Corinthians 2:11, and to not give him any room, in Ephesians 4:27.

Embracing the differences and uniqueness in our characters, temperaments, mindsets and preferences will ease the tension.

Our differences can make us stronger, because one’s area of weakness is another’s strength and vice versa.

God brought us together to achieve harmony on earth and make each of our lives better, fuller and richer because of the bond of family.

We must strive to emulate the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father towards each and every one of us.

Jesus Christ loved us to the point of death. Love is sacrificial.

We must be willing and ready to make sacrifices for one another whenever the need arises.

Prayer For Broken Family Relationships (1)

Dear God,

Thank You for giving me such an amazing family. I realize what a blessing it is to have people who love me.

I’m certain of the fact that, deep down, regardless of the present situation,

we all genuinely love one another, and I praise You for this.

My heart is heavy and I’m at my wit’s end regarding the challenges that my family is facing.

Lord, I ask that You awaken the love that exists in our hearts.

Bring to the memory of each and every one of us the moments of peace and togetherness we once shared.

According to Your Word,

And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

I pray that You teach us to be kind and tenderhearted towards one another. Teach us to forgive just like You forgave us.

Help us to see one other through Your eyes so that we can show true mercy, compassion, and love at all times.

Lord, please restore the respect and honor that once defined how we treated one another. Help us to relate as described in Colossians 3: 12-15.

Let Your humility, mercy, kindness and peace rule each heart. Rebuild every broken bridge and fill every vacuum, dear God.

Let everything that does not glorify You be uprooted from this family, even according to Your promise in Matthew 15:13. Anger, jealousy, hatred, malice, rebellion, vengeance, regret, be-gone!

Jehovah Shalom, I ask that You send Your peace into this family right now. I ask that Your healing power eliminate every hurt and mend every broken heart.

According to Your promise in Joel 2:25,

I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you. Joel 2:25

I pray for a total restoration of all the years we have lost.

Lord, strengthen the bond of this family. Help us to love and tolerate one other. Teach us to work in unity, as Your Body.

Your Word in Matthew 16:18 says that Hell will hold no sway over the Church You are building.

May Your Name alone be glorified in our lives.

I ask in the Name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

Amen.

“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3

Lord,

I come to you to lift up (name(s) and ask for your healing hand to be upon their hearts.

Soften the hardness of their hearts and help them to be open to one another to repair what’s been broken.

Help them to forgive and to love the other as you love them.

Help them to see the other through your eyes and to love through your heart.

You are the healer of all brokenness, and I trust in you Lord.

For I lift these things up to you and pray in your most heavenly name – Amen.
