In today’s world, many marriages are minus a father.
Boys desperately need a father to guide them and lead them to be a Godly adult man.
The influence a father has on his son is so strong that it will determine what kind of adult they will grow up to be.
As mothers and wives, we need to pray over our husbands and sons daily, so God’s hand will be upon the growing relationship between father and son.
Husbands are to be the leaders of the family, and we look to them to guide our children spiritually as well as providing for them. This is a big responsibility.
Being able to maneuver fatherhood with a son requires a delicate balance of love, compassion, shared interests, and attention all the while keeping God at the center.
Prayer For Father and Son Relationship #1
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the blessing of a son. I pray over him for your protection. Please help his father to have a burning desire to raise him in a Godly way so he will come to know you as his personal savior.
Father, only you know the true hearts of both father and son. You know their shortcomings in their relationship.
Please bring them together and create a strong bond.
Grow their love and respect towards one another that will last a lifetime.
Help his father to be a Godly example in both actions and words.
You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men, being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
May the love, gentleness, and devotion towards marriage and women be a witness to his son.
Teach the value of purity between a couple and let it be evident in his father’s guidance.
The importance of praying together as man and wife and worshiping together be something the son will see in both of us as his parents.
Please show him through his father that it’s okay for men to show emotion.
Don’t let the ‘macho’ side of being a boy or man be something that gets in the way of being kind towards others.
Instill in both of them hearts that are forgiving of one another.
Help his father to be involved in his son’s life and share quality time with him.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Help him to have the ear to listen, the heart to love, and the mind to understand his son.
Open the heart and mind of his son to receive instruction and guidance from his father.
I pray that they would study your Word together and pray together.
Guide them in seeking you first in their lives.
Thank you, Lord, for their unique relationship and help them to have victory over the challenges that come their way.
Let nothing get in front of their love and respect for one another.

“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.” John 5:19
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for (father) and for (son.)
Lord, just as you are Lord of Lord, King of Kings, and Father of Fathers, I pray that you would nurture the relationship that is between (father/son) and that you would equip (father) to be the best dad he can be to (son.)
Help him to be the Godly figure and man that will teach his son to honor you in everything he does.
Help him to be the leader that he needs to be to (son) and to love and instruct with a gentle and forgiving heart.
Lord, I pray that you would help both of them to desire to be like you and that their lifestyle would bear witness of their love for you.
