Word Of Encouragement
Dear _____,
Simply being in this world at a time like this comes with a truckload of cares and troubles.
There are times when we consider the evidence in our lives and everything seems hopeless.
When David faced depression, he questioned his heart and remembered the Lord. He reminds himself in Psalm 43:5 to hope in God and praise Him in the midst of the storm.
I want to remind you whose you are.
I want to remind you that we live by faith and not based on what we see (2 Corinthians 5:7)
I know that right now, those burdens you’re carrying seem too heavy to bear.
Let me remind you yet again of God’s promise 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that He will never allow us to go through anything He has not given us the capacity to handle.
I know you feel weak, but we know from 2 Corinthians 12:8 that it is in weakness that God’s strength shines forth.
Please, be strong in the mighty power of the Lord, my beloved.
Shalom.
Prayer For Those Suffering From Depression
Dear God,
I worship You for Your faithfulness.
I thank You because You love us unconditionally, even when we have nothing to give in exchange.
You are indeed a faithful God!
Right now, Lord, I lift up your child before You. You know the burdens of their heart.
You know their weaknesses, their deepest secrets and You hear their silent cries.
Lord, I ask that the awareness of Your presence overwhelm your child right now. Let them remember that there’s no place they can run to hide from Your everlasting love.
In the face of the unreliable and fickle nature of human beings, remind them that You are the same powerful God that You have always been, and You never change, as is stated in Hebrews 13:8.
Let them remember that in the midst of the instability in their heart, You, God, are stable.
With the uncertainty of the ‘ifs’ and ‘whys,’ of this life, Lord, help Your child to trust in Your perfect plan.
Help them to stay focused on their eternal hope, knowing that their place in You is secure. And when others say there is a casting down, teach them to rise and testify that there’s a lifting. (Job 22:29)
You Word in Hebrews 4:15 tells us that You can relate to everything we’re going through because You felt it too.
What a blessed assurance of comfort.
I ask right now that You bring people into their lives that will help them through this hard time.
I ask that You distance them from all negativity and evil and that You shine the light of Your Truth into their heart.
Help them to take refuge in the shelter of Your Love. Be their helper whenever trouble and fear rear their ugly heads.
Finally, Lord, teach Your child to seek solace in You from the cares and burdens in their lives.
You gave us an open invitation in Matthew 11:28-30.
Help them to learn to spend quality time with You, away from the noise of the world.
May Your joy be their strength. Remind them of Your forewarning of the troubles of our age, and Your assurance that we are overcomers no matter the challenges we face, as stated in John 16:33.
I pray in the precious Name of the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Prayer For Someone That Is Sad
Heavenly Father, I know you are good and you always have my best interests at heart.
Right now my heart is filled with sadness because of some things happening in my life that have taken my joy away.
I will rejoice and be glad in your love because you are the God who sees my afflictions (Psalm 31:7).
Give me your perspective for my situation so I will not be downcast anymore but rejoice in your goodness. Today I count your blessings upon my life and choose to focus on the positive.
I will hope in your unfailing love that helps me stand strong.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
Father,
I haven’t felt happy in a very long time.
It feels like there’s a dark cloud following me all the time.
I just can’t seem to break through all this darkness.
Please, heal my heart and my mind. Fill me with your joy.
Show me that you have a plan and a purpose for me and that you can use my broken life.
I know that you are able to deliver me from this depression.
I pray this all in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
