Lord, I thank you for providing me with food and I never have to sleep hungry.
I have an addiction to food and feel like I am a slave to food.
You have said I should do everything for your glory and that includes eating. I repent for when I have not done so.
Help me have self-control as I eat and to turn my focus from food to you.
Dismantle the stronghold of food addiction in my life and show me how to develop healthy eating habits.
I don’t want to be a slave to food anymore and I declare my deliverance today.
I know my addiction to food results from emotional eating. I have an emptiness in my heart that I am trying to fill with food.
Fill me with your words which are food for my spirit (Deuteronomy 8:3).
You say I cannot live on bread alone but by every word that comes from your mouth.
Give me spiritual nourishment as I read and meditate on your word.
Help me develop a healthy diet plan that will guide me on what foods to eat each day.
I recognize that a poor diet has caused me to crave certain foods and fall into an addiction of those foods.
Guide me on the minerals and vitamins my body needs so I will eat foods that deposit them in my body.
As I go about my day, I ask for your strength to avoid fast food which only leads me to crave fried food and pastries.
Give me the discipline to only eat when I am hungry and not before, to avoid overfeeding my body.
Help me turn to your word when tempted to turn to food for comfort.
Teach me to identify the triggers that make me eat all the time and to deal with them.
I will clean out my house of all junk food and only eat healthy foods which nourish my body.
You are an ever present help in times of need and today I need you to walk with me as I deal with my food addiction.
Show me strategies I can use to take charge of my health and diet.
I declare I will overcome my food addiction.
My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and I will feed it well.
Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 1 Corinthians 6:19
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
