Prayer of Encouragement for Graduates

Lord, I praise you for you are my Father in heaven and you have loved me with your unfailing love.

Thank you for helping me finish my education and giving me the opportunity to look forward to a great life ahead.

You gave me divine wisdom that helped me pass my final exams and now I can get a good job.

Give me hope for a better future like you promised in your word in Jeremiah 29:11.

I know that you have good plans for me and a great purpose for my life.

Help me rest in you as I seek employment or start a business to sustain myself and make a contribution to my family.

May I always remember that you watch over me and guide my steps in the right direction and I have no need to fear (Psalm 37:23).

Your word lights my path and I can see the steps I need to take at every turn in life.

Guide me toward the right information that will help me live a successful and prosperous life.

I know with your help I can never go wrong and I will be sure to find my footing in life.

I know that you will give me the wisdom to choose the right career based on the purpose for which you have called me.

You know how to position me in the right place where I will get the help I need.

My heart leaps with joy knowing you are an ever present help whenever I need you (Psalm 46:1).

Help me guard my mind as I patiently wait for the good things you have laid out for me as I start a new phase in life.

Remove any anxiety and fear in my heart, and I will put all my cares on you because you always take care of me.

May I see things from your perspective and only feed my mind with positive thoughts (Philippians 4:8).

I know there is a lot of uncertainty out there when it comes to work but I know you will bless my efforts to secure meaningful work.

Show me how to find work your way and not the world’s way.

My desire is to never conform to the pattern of this world but to do things your way (Romans 12:2).

Show me how to navigate this new season of my life and to hear your voice clearly.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for School Graduates Looking for Work

Prayer for School Graduates Looking for Work

Lord, thank you for seeing school graduates through school till this moment where they have completed their education.

Watch over them as they step into the world to explore the possibilities available to them.

I pray for your wisdom over every graduate to know how to evaluate various work options presented to them.

Help them make the best choice of work considering your call upon their lives.

Direct their every step and let them not depart from the path you have ordained for them.

Show them how to position themselves for the marketplace so they can find work without wasting a lot of time searching.

Give each graduate a vision of what you have planned for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11) and how to achieve all you want them to in this lifetime.

Prepare the mind of each school graduate looking for work and give them hope for a bright future.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Prayer for School Graduates Facing Disappointment

Lord, thank you for the life of each school graduate and for helping them complete one stage in their lives.

Some graduates are facing disappointment because they did not attain the grades they wanted.

They feel they cannot achieve their dreams because of this. Some opportunities they desire will not be available to them.

Enlighten the eyes of their hearts (Ephesians 1:18) to see your grand plans for their lives which are not determined by academic results.

Give them hope of finding work best suited to them. Open their eyes to see the opportunities you have placed before them and how they are qualified for each.

May they not peg their self worth on their academic results but in who they are in Christ.

Help them dream big and carry out great exploits for your kingdom.

Resurrect any dead dreams and desires in them and show them how to fulfill each.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

5 Scriptures for Graduates

5 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

After graduating from school, the world can seem like an unfamiliar place with many options.

Relying on what you think you know when looking for work may lead you along a path you are not happy with.

God sees your journey and knows which direction you need to take.

Trust in God and know that he will lead you to toward your destiny. He will order your steps so that you will not get lost and he will keep you on the right track in life.

He sees what you can’t see in the natural and longs to guide you along the journey of life.

But you shall remember Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is today. Deuteronomy 8:18

God has given you the ability to produce wealth and that means you will prosper in the work you do.

As a loving Father, he equips his children with everything they need to find work that will bring significance and fulfillment to their lives.

He only expects that you will follow his lead and obey his instructions and you’ll prosper.

With God you don’t have to tolerate work you hate or settle for get-rich-quick schemes that prove to be a distraction.

God has his ways and methods to help you succeed in fulfilling his purpose for your life.

And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23

As much as we come under the authority of human bosses, God wants us to work as if we’re working for him.

When we remember that he sees what we do when no one is watching, we will work with a pure heart that pleases him.

Work knowing you are doing it for the Lord and he will richly reward you for it.

When you work with excellence and obey your superiors, God ensures that you receive promotions so that you can be a blessing to a larger group of people.

Your heavenly Father is your number one employer.

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stand on the path of sinners,
nor sit in the seat of scoffers; Psalm 1:1

Many people have lost direction in life because of listening to ungodly counsel.

Be careful where you get your advice and who you allow to speak into your life.

Weigh carefully every piece of advice you receive from others. Make sure it lines up with the word of God.

The “herd mentality” may have worked to some extent in school but in this season of your life, it won’t.

You are a unique individual on a unique path in life and not everyone knows where God is taking you.

Receive wise counsel but be sure to pray over it always.

“Woe to the rebellious children”, says Yahweh, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin, Isaiah 30:1

God warns us about forming alliances that are not by his Spirit. A time has come when you must sift those who need to remain in your life and those that need to leave.

Some friendships served you well while in school but you have to let them go.

This gives room to new godly friendships and relationships that you need in this season.

The wrong friendships can drag you down and make you lose your way.

Ensure those in your inner circle are those God as approved and are mature people who give you godly advice and pray for you.
