Prayers For When Feeling Lonely

Words Of Encouragement For Anyone Experiencing Loneliness

Loneliness can come as a result of the loss of a close friendship, relocation to another city or country, dealing with an issue alone, and the list is endless.

Sometimes you lack someone to talk to about issues that are bothering you.

God’s plan was that we would come to him daily and commune with Him and pour out our secrets to him.

In John 15:15, Jesus calls you his friend and you can talk to him like you do one of your friends.

As your friend, he will listen to you and respond with his love and kindness.

Prayer For Someone Feeling Lonely

Lord, I praise you for you will never leave nor forsake me. I am feeling lonely and isolated from you and others.

Please help me feel your presence again in my life. Turn to me and be gracious to me like your word says in Psalm 25:16.

Let your word dwell in my heart and always remind me that I am your child and part of your family and I am never alone.

Help me get to the root cause of my loneliness and trust that you will help me overcome it. You are my refuge and my fortress and I can always count on you to be by my side.

I will pour out my heart to you in my lonely moments knowing you hear me and answer my prayers.

You are my loving Father and I will always talk to you when I have no one near me.

In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Prayer For A Mother Feeling Lonely

Lord, I thank you for always being close to me even when I don’t feel like you are. I am experiencing loneliness when my children go to school and the house seems extra quiet.

I feel like I have no one to talk to. Today I pour out my heart because you always listen.

I have always relied on my children for company and I feel lonely when they leave the house.

They have become my source of comfort and I repent for leaning on them and not you.

Let me always remember you have sent me your Holy Spirit to be my helper and comforter and I am not alone (John 14:16-18).

Teach me to depend on you as my constant companion who is always there even if no one else is around.

I will come to you with my stories, struggles, pain, joy and enjoy dwelling in your presence.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

You Are Not Alone

“Hey…it’s me…God!

My hand touches your hand; my eyes watch over you, my ears hear your cries and thoughts. You are never alone, for I am always next to you.”

Be not dismayed, for I am your God.

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

Can a woman forget her nursing child,
And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me. Isaiah 49:15-16

God cares so much about you that He engraved you upon the palm of His hand.

This demonstrates how important we are to Him. We can close our eyes each night knowing that He holds us tightly with His loving arms.

For He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

For I am desolate and afflicted. Psalm 25:15-16

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8

Divorce, death, loss, and life-altering events can easily rob us of peace when we are not walking with God.

The sense of sheer loneliness can be crippling.

When you place your troubles in His hands, you will experience peace, and you will feel His presence in your life.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. 1 John 5:4

Have you ever had a younger sibling follow you around, and you just can’t get rid of them?

Well, God is like that.

He is always there, and no matter what you do, He isn’t going anywhere! That’s a comforting feeling to know He is always present with you.

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in [a]hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall [b]fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness [c]shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

Psalm 139: 7-12

The beauty of God’s companionship is persistent and never-ending.

We know without a doubt that we are indeed never alone. His loving hand is always extended to you waiting for you to take it.
