Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. – Psalms 56:3
This is a powerful revelation that if properly understood can be lifting to any believer. The Psalmist makes a statement and is not ashamed to say that there are times that he could feel afraid as a man. But in these times, he knows what to do; he looks to God and puts his trust in him.
This is the life of the believer. While we are on this earth, there are things we cannot totally escape as they are a part of the nature of man. One of these things is fear. However, we are not to remain in fear and let it defeat us. This is not the will of God.
The Bible says in Romans 8:15, that we have not received the spirit of fear, but that of adoption. This gives us the ability to call on God whenever we feel our strength running low. God is a most-present help for us when we are afraid of what men may do to us, or when we fear the worst about situations. So, put your trust in his power to save you always.
Father God, I do not know what tomorrow will bring, but I know that you are always with me. There is no need to be afraid of anything because You will never leave me or forsake me. I have been redeemed from all my fears. I can run this race called life because You are with me every step of the way.
Help me overcome any fear I may have. I want You to give me the courage to face anything and everything. Please help me to trust You with my every move. I trust in You Lord, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
