The Kid’s Room

Caution: “Handle with Care”

Most of us can recall a time in our childhood where we made signs for our bedroom doors that read, “Do Not Enter.” This was a bold statement to strut our newly found sense of independence.

Have you as a parent or guardian had the experience of finding such a sign on the entryway of your child’s room? Fear not, for it happens to the best of parents.

As our kid's journey through various phases of childhood into young adulthood, we are right there traveling with them. In this room, we provide a place to reassure you in your parenting skills and to help you have insight into raising kids.

It’s not an easy job, but if we approach these things with God’s help and guidance, we can tackle this thing called ‘parenthood.’

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Come on into the Kids Room!

Plastered on the door to the kid's room you will find signs warning trespassers not to enter or perhaps no boys/girls allowed. As you turn the doorknob and open the door, you enter into your child’s world. Here they feel safe and free to explore things with boundaries in place.

A few clothes are strewn about on the floor. You pick them up, holding them tightly in your arms. They are growing up quickly and will pass through your fingers before you know it. Over on the wall above their desk is a picture they colored with crayons of you holding their hand. Your heart melts.

How can they completely consume and own your heart but at the same time be so challenging to handle daily? You think to yourself, “Am I doing everything I can to raise them the right way?”

Doubt, fear, disappointment, and joy are all intertwined in raising children. It  starts the moment your newborn takes its first breath until the day you depart this world.
