Abraham and Sarah were given a promise from God: they would have a child, even though they were well beyond childbearing age. Sarah was barren, and the idea of becoming pregnant seemed impossible. But they chose to focus on God’s faithfulness rather than their circumstances. Despite their doubts and questions, they believed God’s promise (Hebrews 11:8-12).
