We love him, because he first loved us. – 1 John 4:19

Spiritual Thought
With so much hate being spread around, the body of Christ needs to spread love.
We should show love to those that have been rejected by the world. We need to love those people who hate us. And fellow believers who are genuinely struggling with their faith.
We are God’s ambassadors on earth, and as such, we need to show others what kingdom love is so that they can repent and turn to God.
But for that to happen, we need to be anchored in God’s love.
We did not love God first He did by sending His only Son to come on earth and die for us. It is this unconditional love that leads to repentance. It is also this love that enables us to love others and ourselves.
The truth is we have a sinful nature that drives us to only think about ourselves, and even then, we don’t think about ourselves correctly.
Knowing how much God loves us and the lengths to which He went to show us love is what enables us to love unconditionally.
We cannot love God, others, and ourselves in our own strength. We need God’s love to love right.
That’s why it is vital to meditate on this verse and other verses about God’s love so that you can be filled with love in your heart and pour it unto others.
Prayer
As Jesus demonstrated Your love to those who were lovable, please remind me of this same kind of love when I deal with those who have hurt me and betrayed me.
May the love of Jesus be manifest in me, so that I may share it with others on a daily basis.
Lord, give me the strength to love myself. How can I expect someone else to care about me if I don't feel self- worth? Help me to remember that I am a child of the King, created by You.
In Jesus name I pray.
