“Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today; for you will never again see the Egyptians whom you have seen today.” – Exodus 14:13

Spiritual Thought
And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
How possible is it to remain calm in the face of fierce opposition? How capable are you of handling a life-threatening situation? Is it easy to face death without fear?
As you contemplate the answers to these questions in your mind, remember that God is on your side, and he is on standby to execute great salvation for you in the face of stiff antagonists.
The people Moses spoke to were like you and me. They had things they cared about and loved ones they wanted to protect. They, like you and me, couldn’t see, with their physical eyes, the Lord Moses was talking about. All they could see was the Egyptians behind and the Red Sea ahead. How could they see salvation in this sort of condition? How could they stand still right in the middle of certain destruction?
More often than not, we face severe hostility with a fight or flight response. The majority of us can never sit still or rest easy when something scary happens. Our natural reaction to these kinds of circumstances is only because we think we have no one backing us up or offering us extra protection. So, we usually go about our lives on earth with our guard up, harboring an unshakable fear of the unknown.
No! Stand still. Trust in the Lord your God, and you will see his salvation at every turn. Moreover, there is a promise: “The Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.” This means when God rescues you from a predicament, you will never face it again.
It’s only when you get still that you can open your inner eyes to see God moving in your favor.
Prayer
I am still and I am waiting in faith and trust of Your power to deliver me out of the hands of my captors. You are God alone, and You have said You will deliver me therefore, I will be delivered!
