You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.– Jeremiah 29:12

Spiritual Thought
We are living in times where people are seeking instant results. You only need to look at the different advertisements on social media and YouTube to see how experts or gurus encourage people to venture into things that will bring instant results.
Even some Christians are running around looking for instant results. They go from leader to leader or move to different churches looking for someone to pray for them so that they can get instant results.
This has led to the rise of false hope. Of course, the Bible says to ask your leaders for prayer but all too often many rely on others to pray rather than they themselves seeking the face of God.
God gives us a simple solution in this Bible verse. He tells us that when we go to Him in prayer, He will answer us.
You don’t need someone to lay his/her hands on you for God to answer your prayers. Not that it is bad to ask others for prayers. It’s actually encouraged in the Bible for certain circumstances.
We are encouraged to pray for one another. But we have also been given authority. We can pray and get results. We don’t have to “buy” miracles.
God is calling upon you to pray. He genuinely cares for you and wants the best for your life. It may take a long time for you to see the manifestation of what you’re praying for.
But when the answer comes, you’re going to appreciate the waiting period and all that God has taken you through.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I must admit that at times I feel like my prayers aren’t being heard. Sometimes I even ask myself why should I keep praying. But this verse reminds me that you are always listening to my prayers.
I may not see the results that I am expecting but you are a good Father. You know what is best for me. Help me to trust you more. Let my heart be still and my eyes witness your goodness in my life.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
