Verse of the Day Joshua 1:9

Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Spiritual Thought

Believers will not always have it rosy. We will face some situations that will test the foundations of our faith at some point in our lives.

This is why God was speaking to Joshua in this manner. If there was going to be no challenges, then the need for this encouragement and reassurance wouldn’t have risen.

This was a foretelling to Joshua that there would be challenges ahead son, and you need to remember what I say to you now, do not be discouraged or frightened.

For when the time comes, I will be with you to give you victory. This we are sure is also a word for us, because we have also come to times of testing and trials.

If God did not say it to only Joshua, but to the children of Israel and every other person that walked with him, then we are also certain that he still says this to us today.

God is aware of all the things you will face. All the challenges that will come your way, and all the troubles that may be.

He is speaking to us to be strong and bold in the day of our testing, because he will always be with us wherever we go.

Prayer

God, please give me strength and courage. Help me get through this day with my head held high and my eyes fixed on you. I want to be able and willing to do what you want. Let me know that you are always there when I call and take away my fear.
