Verse of the Day Psalm 121:1-2

I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth. – Psalm 121:1-2

Spiritual Thought

This psalm is a good reminder of how we can be comforted by the Lord in times of trouble or uncertainty.

The psalmist says, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills- from whence cometh my help?” This is indicative of someone who feels lost and alone in their troubles. The psalmist is looking for guidance and reassurance that everything will be alright.

The author finds his answer in the third sentence: “My help cometh from the LORD.” He is reassured by God’s presence and protection during times of trial.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank you because you are so good and merciful. Thank you for helping me understand the truth of this Bible verse. Father, I appreciate that you are always there.

I lifted my eyes to see you and you were there. I can come to you at anytime and know that you will be there for me. Lord, I bring you all of my problems. Where does my help come from? My help comes from You Lord, who made heaven and earth.
