Verse of the Day Psalm 6:2

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak. O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. – Psalm 6:2

Spiritual Thought

As beings born into a fallen world burdened with sin, living with bodies that still have the traces of the debilitation of sin, weakness has been the norm. We have so many weaknesses – too many to count. However, we also have access to the Lord’s mercy.

Mercy is the bestowment of God that enables us to rise above the throes of every kind of weakness. Mercy is an exercise of God’s sovereignty to put you in an advantaged position despite the manifestation of any deficiency.

First off, it is good to acknowledge the feebleness of your frame mentality and physically. However, this acknowledgment must proceed to a yearning for strength.

It is catastrophic to settle down in your weaknesses and very foolish to accept weakness as your status quo. It would be best if you desired to be strong. It would help if you craved the health and wellness of your entire being. You have to get mercy so you can access strength. This is very important if you want to have a good life.

Yes, our bodies get weak, our muscles get tired. We indeed get worn down by the passing of time. But we can cry out to God for his mercy and healing. Restoration and renewal are possibilities in God. If we don’t open our mouths and earnestly demand the mercy of God, we would most definitely fade away earlier than expected.

Prayer

Oh Lord! Only you are able to heal me the way that You can. Please heal my body and save me from perishing, for You are gracious and I know You will save me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
